The ICSP UK Award in Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
(HIRA) is an in-depth program designed to provide individuals with the critical
skills needed to identify hazards and evaluate risks in various workplace
settings. Participants will develop a strong grasp of hazard identification
principles and risk assessment practices, contributing to a safer work
environment. The course is applicable to a range of industries and professions,
offering foundational knowledge to improve workplace safety. It covers how to prepare
and conduct risk assessments, address identified hazards using the hierarchy of
controls, and recognize and correct unsafe practices. The curriculum includes
both theoretical concepts and practical applications, supported by case
studies, to ensure that participants can effectively apply their knowledge in
real-world situations.
The qualification is assessed through evaluations and
Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). To earn the certification, learners must
successfully complete both types of assessments, achieving the required passing
percentage.
The recommended duration for this qualification is 5 days. While the course can be extended to accommodate any additional learning needs, it cannot be shortened.
